4-H YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
… And My World

Ruby in D.C.: Taking in all the national monuments, such as the United States Capitol Dome, seen here in the background.
Ruby Fassett, a 15-year-old from West Linn, truly embodies the 4-H Pledge, which calls members to serve their Club, Community, Country and World. In 2024, she was named a Pamplin Media Amazing Kid.
Ruby’s journey is a testament to her commitment to community and leadership. Ruby is actively involved in leadership roles at school and in 4-H. She was selected to attend the Ignite by 4-H leadership conference in Washington D.C. and is currently developing an educational workshop to present in local schools. Ruby also participates in Model UN and Speech & Debate. A year living in Uganda during fourth grade, and a return visit last summer, have broadened her perspective.
Looking ahead, Ruby aspires to be a politician, inspired by her love for debate and her experiences in 4-H. She has already set her sights on Oregon State University, where she has attended camps and stayed in dorms.
