4-H YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
Bud The Goose Partners With A
Second Generation Of 4-H Members

Sam and Edward Atkins, Canby, enjoy promoting 4-H and sharing what they have learned about poultry.
Bud the Goose, a 23-year-old gander, may be one of the oldest participants in 4-H. He is owned by the Atkins Family from Canby. After being shown by mom Jennifer to a state championship he retired to barnyard duty. This year he came out of retirement to teach sons Sam and Edward about 4-H.
The boys loved learning about poultry and had a unique opportunity to share their knowledge. They were invited guests at the Goose Hollow Neighborhood Event in Downtown Portland. Sam and Edward talked to many people about 4-H while Bud honked his approval. Bud even participated in “barnyard bingo,” earning a donation to Clackamas 4-H.
