Livestock & Forages
On December 1st, 2024, I began my role as the new Willamette Livestock and Forages Specialist for the Valley, including Clackamas. I am excited to work in Clackamas County and look forward to assisting its people and programs. In my first few months, I have been researching and gathering information to create a needs assessment so I can understand the community’s needs to tailor my future programming and research projects.
An ongoing project I have been organizing is a Livestock Webinar Series, featuring monthly speakers on various livestock topics, accessible virtually to everyone with several Clackamas County participants. This year, a key focus for my programming will be biosecurity, aiming to enhance the health and safety of our livestock. Additionally, I plan to organize local pasture walks, farm tours, and other hands-on learning opportunities. I eagerly anticipate meeting local producers and stakeholders at community meetings and during site visits.
