Clackamas County Celebrates Buffy Rhoades' Award for Excellence in Curriculum Delivery

Assistant for the Clackamas County Family and Food and Health (FCH) program, received the prestigious Education Practices for Curriculum Delivery Award at the May FCH conference. Buffy’s dedication to improving food access and security is evident in her leadership of the Master Food Preserver (MFP) program, where she trains and manages over 20 volunteers, delivering engaging food preservation workshops and community events. Her innovative work extends beyond the MFP program; she developed crucial resources like the Library of Things program, providing community members with access to pressure canners and other equipment, and created widely-used skill sheets to reduce food waste. Buffy’s adaptability shines through her customized training for program staff and her ongoing commitment to improving community education. This award recognizes her exceptional contributions to Clackamas County’s commitment to healthy, accessible food for all residents.
